Drug Information Association (DIA) 44th Annual Meeting
June 22-26, 2008 // Boston, USA
The Drug Information Association (DIA) Annual Meeting is on BBK Worldwide's and TCN e-Systems' home turf in 2008, so the agency (at booth #711) has some special surprises in store to enlighten and entertain the hundreds of pharmaceutical and related industries professionals who attend this leading conference. BBK and TCN team members will be on hand to answer questions on global clinical trial patient recruitment and share the latest recruitment strategies and technologies. Additionally, four BBK leaders will present educational sessions.
- Jaime Cohen chairs "The Six Risk Areas of Clinical Trial Patient Enrollment,"* a session defining six discrete enrollment risk areas and the challenges of each. Cohen will also present "An Ounce of Prevention: Creating a Risk Response Strategy for Patient Enrollment," illustrating the benefits of risk-response planning in the enrollment arena using case studies from actual clinical trial recruitment efforts. Two additional panelists discuss data-driven country and site selection and culturally effective recruitment materials, respectively.
June 26, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Matt Kibby is one of three panelists discussing "U.S. Subject Recruitment: Is it a Losing Proposition?"* The presentation focuses on strategies to increase U.S. subject participation in clinical trials. In this unique session approach, the audience will be encouraged to participate as each panelist answers five topical questions and shares three tips to optimize U.S. enrollment.
June 23, 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- KK Rumrill, representing TCN e-Systems, is part of the Professional Poster Session with "The 'Where' of Patient Recruitment." This poster will present the latest approaches to reliably assessing and selecting the most effective countries and investigative sites for global studies using current research, data, and technology.
June 24, 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Linda Wolf presents "Adapting Informed Consent: Informed Patient Decisions in Different Cultures." - a discussion so popular at DIA 2007 that attendees requested it be repeated. Her updated talk focuses on challenges presented by cultural variation to the informed consent process, with special attention to strategies for improving comprehension. Wolf's presentation is part of the session titled "Radical Ideas for Transforming the Informed Consent Process."
June 26, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
*This session highlighted among DIA's suggested "Hot Topics" in the patient recruitment and retention track.
